Shawn Christie - Guitars

I think I dropped my pick.
As you might expect, this is the page where I get to tell you how great you think I am.!? If I 've accomplished that feat then this page has been more worthwhile than I could've dreamed. That being said this is just an opportunity to tell my story, as it relates to this band.

Tim and I met in Music Theory I class at Shawnee High School in Medford back in 1993. I immediately thought that he was a pretentious a**hole, and my first impression has held true to the present. All kidding aside (he really is an a**hole), Tim and I have a great friendship as well as a musical kinship that has helped each of us to shape the Zeroesque sound. We've been playing together for about the better part of a decade, so it is nice to finally have something to show for it. Considering that I've only been playing for 11 years, Tim has been there nearly from the start. From high school jazz band, to numerous jam sessions in the "rubber room", we have always pushed each other to play to the best of our abilities as is apparent on our debut album. I guess we got serious about playing our own material after all the cover tunes we used to play. Speaking of getting serious, I should probably mention that I do have some formal music training.

I am currently enrolled at Rowan University studying towards a B.M. in Jazz performance. I have studied with Joe Federico, Joe Mayes, and Tom Giacabetti during my time at Rowan, and I hope to be graduating sometime in the near future. Prior to my education, I was completely self taught, relying upon instructional books and videos to shape my playing, though my schooling has been very valuable in improving my overall playing technique. I am grateful to all the teachers that have helped me to realize my musical vision.

Some of the artists that have helped to influence my playing are as follows: Vernon Reid, Kirk Hammett, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Al DiMeola, Allan Holdsworth, and fellow Medford native Scott McGill.

I hope that you enjoy listening to our music as much as we love making it.
